A trip to the museum

The Fashion and Textiles museum was our research for the presentation. Me, Alina and Evija , well, none of us know about this museum. So on a very beautiful sunny day , we decided to visit the museum. As we walk along the street and then suddenly, a beautiful hot pink, bright orange got our attention. We knew straight away that was the Fashion and Textiles Museum. The building was designed by the famous Mexican architect Ricardo Legorreta. His use of bright color such as hot pink, bright blue , yellow and orange is the reason why i love his work. Here are some of his works :

Children's museum of science in Fort Worth

The most recent exhibition was POP! Design - Culture- Fashion. It reflects how a new wave of rock -n -roll and youth culture from America swept the country and the world in the 1950s.

As we walked into the museum, we were taken back to the 50s and 60s . There were pop music from the East Coast DooWop and Twiggy , there were clothing from the 60s with the famous culottes , box-shaped PVC dresses and go-go boots, which were very popular back then.

The 60s and 70s hair styles.
 C'est Chic!
Also my new hair cute was inspire from this fabulous era

However , from the 70s , there was a new development of not only music , but style as well. The Punk Era! There are the poodle si-kirts and embellished leathers of the rockers like the Sex pistols and the Rolling Stones. Also, This exhibition will take in the cool styling of the Mods , the high baroque of the Psyche delis and the kitsch glamour of 70s retro by designers such as Mr Freedom and Miss Mouse. We were overwhelming  by  these wonderful collection.

The Sex Pistol's performance costume.

Not only us but others people from around the world who came to the museum find it truly inspirational. Some of their true emotion were written down in the comment book of the museum. It was a very pleasant experience.

A New Beginning

This is probably the first blog that I've ever made ( well, i have made a few before but there are more photos blog) so this is going to be very interesting! When i woke up on the plane from Hanoi to London, i was terrified by the typical rainy weather ! It switches from 30 celsius degree to 10 celsius degree!! It feels absolutely horrible! I don't look too happy either but I still love London ;) !

Also, this is my fourth year in London so i am probably use to London by now. But the fact that i'm officially a first year student at London College of Communication makes me become nervous." Cool place full of strangers! ".That was probably my first impression when i first enter the university. There are 3 main building in the university : The T , The W and The M. And then the "Upper street" and "Lower Street" ! You are probably thinking : what on earth is going on ? Am i on a street or something ?  That was exactly how i feel. And that's what make this place so unique. I managed to make some new friends so things are pretty smooth so far. I'm glad that people are very friendly in LCC, eventhough  i am not still close to any of them yet ( i'm sure i will make some good friends soon! )

Then here it comes the first lecture. Welcome to the advertising world. That would sum up almost what the course director said during 3 hours. Suddenly i felt so small compare to others people because i have not done anything , no research about advertising and how it works. Some of my classmate had done lots of intership in some advertising agencies or they have done so many jobs! I have only done photocopy in an office and baby sitting ! I seriously need to do more work!  So the lecture was probably to help some of us ( or may be only me) to realize that it's time to get cracking ! It's time to work!!The time is NOW!
